Smt Lakshmi Santhanam grew up in Puducherry. She learnt the rudiments of cooking from her mother, Smt. Sampoornammal. She is multi-talented and versatile, and in addition to cooking, her interests range from carnatic music, doll making and fabric painting to kolam and rangoli.
