Nagendra Saraf is a leading voice and passionate advocate in the Indian vintage watch community, the founder of the Bengaluru Vintage Watch Collectors Club (BVWCC), and a proud member of Vintage Watch Collectors India (VWCI). His journey into horology evolved naturally from earlier collecting passions in philately and numismatics, leading him to develop a profound curiosity and rigorous approach to the world of timepieces.
Driven by a desire for more engaging and permanent discourse beyond fleeting online posts, Nagendra established the Bengaluru Vintage Watch Collectors Club (BVWCC). Today, BVWCC stands out for its vibrant and highly anticipated Saturday morning breakfast meets, a unique culture that has fostered a thriving community of over 600 members. These regular gatherings, often seeing at least 20 attendees, provide an invaluable platform for both new and veteran collectors to showcase their prized timepieces, share knowledge, and inspire the next generation of enthusiasts. The club proudly brings together collectors from all walks of life, including women, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, research scholars, and students. With deep knowledge in fish keeping and Aquascaping, Nagendra brings the same dedication and meticulous eye to horology, especially in exploring obscure microbrands and meticulously writing about watches from a collector's perspective.
Beyond his horological pursuits, Nagendra is a visionary leader, strategist, and mentor with a distinguished career spanning technology, entrepreneurship, and business transformation. An engineering graduate from Mysuru University, he founded Palmworks®, a pioneering software company specializing in application integration on PDAs and smartphones, demonstrating his foresight in technology. His experience teaching e-Commerce Implementation and Business Intelligence at Visvesvaraya Technological University (Belgaum Campus) and his work in strategic thinking and leadership through We-Manage and The CEO School underscore his ability to convey complex information clearly and authoritatively.
An engaging speaker and prolific writer, Prof. Saraf shares his insights widely on social media platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn, where his articles and views are widely followed. He also reaches a diverse and growing audience through YouTube and podcasts. On the personal front, he is a graduate in Carnatic Vocal Music, a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, and a teacher of Gayatri Japa Mudras. As a coffee planter, he finds inspiration in the rhythms of the land and the quietude it offers. His early leadership roles with Rotaract and Junior Chamber International (JCI) laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to growth through community and dialogue.
