<p xss=removed>Dr. B. G. Matapurkar is a surgeon retired from the Central Health Services, Government of India, and a renowned scientist with international patents (USA: 1995, 2002, 2003). His pioneering research on adult stem cells demonstrated regeneration of tissues and organs using body tissue cells, leading to new operative techniques published in medical textbooks. He discovered the physiological phenomenon of “Desired Metaplasia,” recorded as a world record in the Limca Book of Records, with potential applications in future space travel through lightweight food production systems.</p>
<p xss=removed>During his posting in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands (1974–1976), he innovated the intravenous use of tender coconut water due to scarcity of IV fluids, publishing this work in medical journals. He has received several national and international awards, including active membership in the New York Academy of Sciences. His scientific analysis of the birth of the 101 Kauravas from the Mahabharata gained global attention, and he has published extensively on science in the Gita, Puranas, and earth’s axis and obliquity.</p>
