<p>As a PIB accredited journalist, Dhananjay Kumar is reckoned as standard bearer of ethical health journalism as health is a matter of life and death. Two of his attributes call for special mention. One, he was recipient of a very prestigious Prem Bhatia Research Scholarship for media, the topic of research being ‘dangers of unskilled and unscrupulous health reporting’. His much acclaimed book ‘Dishonest Medi(a)cine’ based on this research got rave reviews in newspapers. Secondly, as founding Secretary General of HEAL (Health Essayist and Authors’ League), the only coalition of health writers in the world, conducted workshops among health writers from across the country in the quest for improving the quality of health reporting. Under the aegis of HEAL, He have had a unique experience of leading contingents consisting health writers of all the mainstream newspaper groups, namely, TOI, HT, Economic Times, Telegraph et el. </p>
