From the beautiful archipelago to the classrooms of the Middle East, Dr. Junifer Abatayo’s work is grounded in education, leadership, and empowerment. A seasoned educator and leader, he has championed the growth of Filipino communities across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Sultanate of Oman, and the Kingdom of Bahrain – inside and beyond the classroom. Now shaping future educators at Bahrain Teachers College, University of Bahrain, Dr. Abatayo continues to inspire transformation in community building, educational development, and professional growth.
Beginning her educational journey in the Philippines, Mary Jean “MJae” Dureza has dedicated 13years to the field, specializing in educational technology. Her experience includes teaching the Cambridge, IB, and Pearson Edexcel curricula, with an initial two years in the Philippines followed by the rest of her career in Bahrain. Inspired by her book title, "Step-up and Make it Happen," MJae is a firm believer in proactive living.
Clarence Nilo C. Serquenia Jr. teaches Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language, as well as Theory of Knowledge under the International Baccalaureate curriculum at an international school in Bahrain. He has been teaching in the kingdom since 2018, although he has kept a writing career in the Philippines as a textbook author for Phoenix and Sibs Publishing Houses. Outside academia, he enjoys the wild outdoors as a camper, sightseer, and a backpacker.
