There's so much going on all around - in one's immediate surroundings as well as in the big wide world outside, fraught with intense issues. A time etched indelibly in the mind in its stark contrasts; its palette tinged with shades of grey as also pointing to a conscience almost frozen in the face of unfolding realities! Within the joy of being, a tremulous voice cries out to be heard, its silence deafening. The moments that soar are ever present, as always, in the music of birds and momentous dawns - profusely poetic, holding out promise in simple yet extraordinary ways; yet tinged with the heartbreak of ashen visages and the sound of gunfire.

This poetry collection is an impassioned exploration of life, contemplating its existential realities in rhapsodies and pensive reflections. There are poems in praise of earth, language, romance, sound, and the texture of home; in another dimension, there are treks through space and time, all the way to the moon, and also across centuries in search of lost treasure. Reflections on the tumultuous times we live in, dwell on war, disease, injustice.

A post graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication with media experience, Neha is now in her own creative space, designing an eclectic mix of literary and fine arts programs addressing contemporary issues. She is the founder of MAP (Music-Art-Poetry) Festival, Mumbai, an annual, equal opportunity platform for emerging and established artists alike. ‘The poems in this collection trace a young heart's journey into vistas of knowing and of seeking to know, on fertile emotive paths strewn with sunlight and shadows; a rare filigreed lattice of verse. Bitter sweet moments elongate the hours past midnight into mournful churns, waiting for a loved one. Or the heady scent of remembrance takes one back to bygone lanes, into innocence and away from this city where the heart tends to resist even in song. It can never merely conform! Unguent yet acerbic, viscous, with a raw taste of reality that finds itself in the poet’s exquisite resolve to question, to seek, to march on. A fluid journey thus far. Smeetha Bhoumik. Poet, Artist, Founder - WE “Fuelled with everyday life experiences, Neha's poems flow with ease. Her emotional fervour resonates deeply." Ritu Dua. Artist and Writer

Diverse voices, perspectives, age-groups, ideologies have united to create a landscape where the feminine is expressed in glimmering kaleidoscopic rays, is celebrated, and looks on to expanding circles of happiness even amidst darkness and despair. It is a celebration of the sounds of hope in all its
hues, especially the blues. New waves of thoughts forge ahead on the road to equality, where the ‘Modern Fem-Jazz-Word Quartet’ plays on with ideas.
Receipient of the inaugural Kamala Das Poetry Award instituted by Women Empowered-India - Anna Sujatha Mathai, finds pride of place in the anthology.
A range of poetic forms and themes : free verse, sestina, couplets of ghazal, villanelle, experimental & others flow together, creating a sound of the spirit of water ; pay tribute to Begum Akhtar, challenge restrictive norms for women, interrogate atrocities, and take a close look at identity, relationships, belonging, evolution, sisterhood and the power of dreams, new ways of seeing.
