Prof. V. Shama Bhat. an M.Sc. in physics of Karnataka University, Dharwad, India, has varied long teaching and research experiences of about 61years. He had served as a professor of physics, in a science college at Bengaluru, then at Manipal Institute of Technology, Medical and Pharmacy colleges, at Manipal. Later, worked as Professor and Head of the department of Dental Materials, at Colleges of Dental Sciences of Manipal University, Manipal, and Yenepoya (deemed) University, Mangaluru. (Karnataka, India). Retired from active service in the year 2018, at the age of 85 years.
Manipal V.S. Aruna Kumari is a distinguished Veena artist and teacher trained by renowned Vainika Sri A. Anantha Padmanabhan. She excels in Carnatic vocal music, Violin, and Veena playing, blending her master's Gayaki style with Raaga-Bhava. Initiated into spirituality by Sri Sathya Sai Baba and guided by Dr. P.V. Sesha Sai, she practices Yoga and has achieved spiritual milestones. Her published works explore the science and spirituality of the Veena, proposing a hypothesis that connects material and non-material sciences.
