Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalIf you think retirement is a never-ending vacation filled with golf, grandkids and guilt free naps, think again.
In Brew Your Retirement, Rajat Mathur, former corporate leader turned Retirement Transition Coach, offers a witty, honest and deeply human look at what really happen when the work emails stop but life does not. Through 100 bite sized reflections he calls “timestamps,” he captures the emotional side of retirement: the joy of slow mornings, the discomfort of empty calendars, the awkward pause after “So what do you do now?”, and the subtle identity shift that follows the last ID card scan.
This is not a financial planning manual. It is a companion for the soul. With humour, humility and sharp insight, Rajat explores the move from structured success to intentional living. Written like a conversation across a coffee table, the book reminds readers that retirement is not about stopping. It is about rewiring.

Rajat Mathur
Rajat Mathur is the Founder of Silver Spring, India’s first dedicated non-financial retirement transition firm, helping individuals and organisations prepare for life beyond work.
A former Managing Director at Morgan Stanley, Rajat spent over three decades building teams, leading talent strategy and mentoring professionals across Asia. After guiding countless careers, he realised that the one transition most people never prepare for is their own retirement.
Today, as a Retirement Transition Coach, he helps individuals reimagine this phase not as an ending but as a renewal. Through Silver Spring workshops and his signature Retirement Readiness Index, he blends insight, empathy and gentle wit to guide people toward a purposeful second innings.
Brew Your Retirement is his first book on the emotional side of retirement, offering a light, relatable and practical reflection on what it truly means to begin again. When he isn’t writing or coaching, Rajat enjoys painting, hiking, golf, and discovering new coffee blends, preferably while planning his next story.
