Uttara composed this entire collection of sonnets during Covid times when a chance What's App message which questioned a popularly held belief on whether Ram indeed banished a pregnant Sita and also questioned the faith of an average Hindu in his deities. The soul searching that followed prompted Uttara into undertaking meticulous research into our religious texts and as each unknown fact, facet presented itself, it manifested into a sonnet and a prologue to set a context to the conversation captured therein. Professionally Uttara Vaid is a very respected name in the field of General Insurance especially Liability Insurance and has been credited with establishing the first ever Liability Insurance Department in any General Insurance Company and popularising the same in India. She runs her own consulting company in the field of Liability Insurance and was recently featured on the Cover Page of Women's Entrepreneurs India Magazine among the Top 10 Women Entrepreneurs in Banking and Insurance. She lives in Mumbai with her husband Nainesh and her daughter Prachi and is fond of music, reading and playing Badminton.
