Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalIn a world grappling with the consequences of overconsumption and mismanaged waste, “Echoes of the Earth” offers a comprehensive exploration of humanity’s growing trash crisis. This book examines the critical challenges of solid waste management, from the science of segregation to the environmental toll of “use-and-throw” culture.
Through meticulous analysis and actionable solutions, it reveals how improper disposal practices impact urban infrastructure, public health, and ecosystems. From practical guidance on composting and recycling to critiques of global policies and local inefficiencies, this book provides a roadmap for individuals, communities, and policymakers to rethink their relationship with waste.
While grounded in research, “Echoes of the Earth” doesn’t shy away from tough questions: How did we get here? What can we do differently? And why is your kitchen bin a good place to start? This is more than a call to action- it’s a blueprint for a cleaner, and more sustainable future.

“I bow to Lord Shiva, who is the eternal truth, peace, and source of creation. He is the guide of the virtuous and the giver of wisdom, the infinite and the all-knowing.”
Dr. S.K. Gupta (1951–2020) was a scholar, mentor, and humanitarian whose life was a remarkable blend of resilience, compassion, and unyielding determination. A proud recipient of a Ph.D. in Economics from Jammu University (1993), he stood tall as an academician who believed that education was not just about learning but about transforming lives.
With over 40 years of experience spanning banking and academia, he championed rural finance and financial inclusion, earning accolades from NABARD and the Chief Minister of J&K for empowering marginalized communities. Transitioning to academia, he served as Dean and Head of the Department of Management Studies and Economics at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, inspiring MBA students with his wisdom and humility.
Despite life’s early struggles, he persevered, creating a legacy of strength, honesty, and compassion. A devoted husband, father, and brother, he loved his morning chai and approached life with humour and purpose. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, proving that greatness lies in service, simplicity, and living life by one’s own rules.
We miss him dearly and carry his memory in our hearts, grateful for the wisdom, love, and laughter he shared. His remarkable life continues to inspire us every day, reminding us to lead with compassion, strength, and purpose, just as he did.
