The tales collected from different villages of the tribe have been translated, rephrased, and retold in a new light, while the essence of the folktales remains true to their tradition. The backgrounds, the characters and the conversations in these ancient folktales have been repainted in the colours of the rainbow.
This book is not the modern tales of the west, the middle or the east you may be expecting. It is a peek into the culture you may have never seen and a read into the minds of a headhunting tribe in the north-eastern part of India. It is as sweet as it is raw.

Chatung Lowang
Chatung Lowang is an amateur Indigenous short story writer and poet from the Nocte tribe in Arunachal Pradesh, northeast India. By profession, she is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English, presently posted at Wangcha Rajkumar Government College, Deomali. She has been a member of the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) since 2017 and is currently the President of the Tirap district’s APLS Unit. She has published some of her short stories in Prayas, a quarterly magazine by APLS.
To her, creative writing is not a commercial venture or a professional goal, but an area to unwind and relax when life gets tough. She calls it her de-stressing room.
