Afshan is a young adult who has just completed her MBBS and returned home after years of living away. She came back because she was deeply exhausted by the demands of an independent life. However, upon returning, she was met with a series of unfortunate events that reopened old wounds and led her to a severe mental breakdown.
For the next several weeks, she lived each day just trying to survive and battling thoughts of ending her life.
One day, while frantically cleaning out her cupboard, she stumbled upon her old notebooks filled with poetic scribbles about her life. As she read through them, she broke down in tears, realizing that this breakdown had been building for years.
In those forgotten pages, she found solace — a version of herself that had been crying out all along. She began compiling those writings, hoping they might help someone else feel less alone.
And so, the words I once never dared to show even to my closest friends are now compiled for the world to see, so that no one has to feel as lonely as I did, and sometimes still do.
