Porla Lingappa completed his post-graduation in Chemistry and worked as Lecturer and in the Youth Services and Sports Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh for three years also worked in Chemical industries, an Innovator. He studied Brahma Gnana/Vedantha in depth and also studied the works of other social and philosophies like Marxism, Swami Vivekananda and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. He was involved in various political and social movements. In 1994, he contested as an MLA from Amarachinta constituency in the then Andhra Pradesh state. He worked in the movement for the formation of Telangana state.
