ARUL SHANMUGAVELU
Arul Shanmugavelu is an engineer who furthered his education with a management degree. After working for a short period at HCL Limited and General Optics (Asia) Limited, he joined Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T). He has hands-on experience in functions such as Design, manufacturing, marketing, purchase, product development, and customer service.
He was instrumental in developing the export market for Rubber Machinery of L&T spread across over 30 countries. He had travelled widely across the globe and worked with people from different cultures.
In 2014, he was appointed as the Chief Executive of a JV between L&T and Kobe Steel, Ltd., Japan. He built the company from scratch and made it a financially sound company. Currently serving as the Country Head at Kobelco Industrial Machinery India Private Limited a 100% Subsidiary of Kobe Steel, Ltd. Japan.
