Amanda and Andy were given a puppy on their birthday. They enjoyed looking after him and tried to train him to do tricks. He had a mind of his own and did not learn anything. When they went to visit their grandma, they couldn’t take their little dog with them, so their neighbour looked after him for them. That is when Fido had an adventure. Fido was a clever dog after all

Author Mala Ashok:
Mala Ashok grew up in India and moved to Canada. She has been published extensively in both countries. She has been writing stories since the age of nine. Mala's first children's picture book, Ramya's Stars, has been translated into over twenty languages and received widely.
Illustrator Maureen Patz:
Maureen Patz has had a passion for drawing and painting since being a very young child. Not allowed to go to art college, she trained as a mechanical draftsman. Due to her artistic abilities, she was often chosen to work on exploded views of machinery. Her love of drawing and painting heritage warplanes earned her the title of Spitfire Mo. Maureen’s ability to draw was also helpful in the classroom when teaching French to elementary school-age children. She paints as a hobby, and now this first publication of her illustrations is a dream-come-true for her. Maureen lives with her family in Canada
