Firaki, a depressed history professor in her 30s, boards a train from Kolkata to Shantiniketan to visit her father, who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer, one final time before committing suicide, since she feels she has no one left now that her mother has died and her little brother died as a child in an accident for which she has always blamed herself. However, on the train Firaki meets a stranger who seems remarkably familiar. The next couple of hours transform Firaki's life, bringing revelations that upend her entire existence.
