Biplabratan Sarkar is a teacher of English of  McWilliam Higher Secondary School of Alipurduar, West Bengal. Several of his personal anecdotes were published in The Statesman and The Telegraph. His book Bangladesh and Monalisa: Revisited '71 Saga, a travelogue cum autobiographical novel in the backdrop of the Bangladesh liberation war with all its shocking and searing incidences, published in 2014, earned him popularity among the readers.
