On an ordinary morning, Dora woke up to get ready for school and realized it was already 6:50 a.m., and school started at 7:30 a.m. She hurriedly packed her bag and then went to the washroom, washed her face, combed her hair, and got dressed up. When she came out, her mother, Lora, had her breakfast ready at the table, and she gulped it at once. She and Lily, her best friend, arrived at school by 7:35 am, so they had to receive a special welcome from their class teacher. As their teacher was about to beat Dora with her stick, Dora was only looking at her, not staring, but somehow the teacher's hand was unable to come near Dora. But when Dora lowered her eyes, the teacher was then able to beat her with the stick. And Lily also got one too. That day went like any other day, but not for Dora and her teacher. The teacher realized something was strange with Dora, but didn't know what. Similarly, Dora also felt something was off with her. She went home after school and just spent the rest of the day in her room quietly, which made her mother a bit worried.
After a few months, everything was back to normal. But suddenly, one day, there were huge tides in the Atlantic Ocean. All the sea creatures were tensed, schools were closed, and the mermaid family of Dora was all inside their house. Dora, along with her brother Simon, were sitting under a table holding hands, when their mother Lora and father Luke came into the room and told them it's just absolutely normal and nothing to be afraid of, and that it will be gone by the evening. They then sat together with their babies by embracing them in their arms and holding each other with their tales. The room was filled with secure love vibes of the family.
The day passed, evening came, and all the sea creatures were inside their houses, so none of them had anything to eat. In the evening, they were almost starving, so Lora and Luke went out to find something to feed their babies. While Dora and Simon were hoping for them to return safely. An hour passed, another hour passed, and nobody was returning. By now, Dora and Simon were a little tense, so they decided to peek through the window to see if everything was okay outside. But nothing was okay outside those creatures, who were outside were struggling to move and taking help of plants and huge stones to hide behind them, a few dead bodies were also floating. Simon and Dora were in a huge shock; they wanted to go out and check on their parents, but at the same time, they had also promised to stay inside until their parents returned. Dora is only 7 years old and Simon is only 9, but they still gathered up their courage and went out. As soon as they went outside, the waves were so strong that they got separated within a few moments. Dora was alone, holding on to a stone very tightly. The waves were vigorous sometimes, and at other times they were moderately strong, so Dora marked the strength of the waves, and something within her was pushing her mind to stop the tides somehow and bring everything back to normal. As the number of dead bodies was rising, Dora's uneasiness was growing and making her more desperate to help their community in any way possible. Slowing and gradually, Dora tried to rise to the surface to see the tides. She held on to other taller things inside the ocean and was near the surface now. She gathered al, her strength to jump up and see the tides, she did it, but while jumping her right hand was up in the air with open palm, and in that moment when she was above the ocean surface she could vividly see and feel the warmth of a powerful blue ray travelled from her palm towards the tides and then everything stopped. As it was already past evening so in the dark her ray was visible to all the sea creatures, including her family too. After that, nothing was back to normal.
She then became the trusted hero of their community. Celebrations, parties, and recognition flooded into her life. Everything was so new to her, she was absolutely on cloud nine. Her neighbors, her friends, and some elders used to bring her cookies, snacks, and gifts almost every day. But then again, the mother comes worried about what's going on with Dora. Lora and Luke were secretly busy finding out what exactly the reason is for Dora's immense power. Days passed by, but Lora and Luke were yet to find out the truth. They were secretly taking Dora and Simon here and there on Sundays to see if they could find any clues. One day, they had planned to go somewhere really deep into the ocean, where it was believed that Luke's mother had kept something valuable, but nobody knew if that was true or just a rumor. So they went there for a picnic on a Sunday. Lora and Luke made sandwiches, oysters, and some prawns to eat. Simon and Dora were so happy to explore new places every week, they played around a bit, had their snacks, and then Lora and Luke joined them to run around the place. While they were having fun chasing their babies, a slight green light was following Dora, which was marked by Lora. So she hinted to Luke to come to her. Luke came to her, and then they both went inside a deep, den-like surface to follow the light. Simon and Dora were also following them. After travelling a few meters, there was a shining green big box with a lock on it. Lora and Luke tried to open it up in every possible manner, but it was still locked. Simon then came to help, but again, it was still locked. It was then the turn of Dora, who came to it with her shiny eyes and a broad smile, eager to see what was in it. She just held the box on her lap it and it was wide open instantly. There was a magic wand and a letter in it, which was written by Luke's mother. Luke's mother's name was Lenina, she used to be an immensely beautiful mermaid of the Atlantic Ocean. She was an angel by her deeds also. She used to help everybody. One day, when Lenina was young, she met with a human slave who was drowning in the ocean, and she was trying to help him, but he was badly wounded and had no chance of survival but still looking at the efforts of Lenina to help him survive, he gave his magic wand to her and said 'Use it well, now you are the new master of it'. Since then, Lenina used that magic wand secretly to help herself, her family, and others when in danger. Before dying, she kept that magic wand in the box and wrote in the letter that this wand will belong to the next brave mermaid soul who will have a benevolent heart, and that is 'Dora' now. So Dora now gets her magic wand and continues her legacy to protect every sea creature in the Ocean.
