"Well... Hello there!" Suddenly a voice popped out of the door.
Meena thought that she had closed the door.
She was scared to even look in the direction from where the voice was coming.
It started a few months back.
Meena was waiting near a bookstore to meet her friend.
When, suddenly, she recognised few people who were standing accross her.
They were of a famous kpop group!
Meena shook her head. It can't be real!
Just then she saw her friend Shelly. They greeted each other and both entered the bookstore.
Again, to her surprise the bookstore was empty, and was reserved for someone.
Even, the owner told them to find another bookstore even though, they were the regular customers.
Shelly suggested to leave the place and go to a park to enjoy the rest of the afternoon.
Meena agreed. She was yet confused by the behaviour.
Even though Shelly wasn't a kpop fan, she understood that someone from that famous kpop group has reserved the bookstore.
Meena enjoyed her rest of the afternoon and seperated ways with Shelly.
The thought never ever occurred that Meena will be meeting her idol that day!
Now, back to the present time...
Meena saw through the kitchen window a group of reporters and camera crew.
She pinched herself, to check whether she was dreaming. But, no!
They were really standing in front of her house!
Meena was holding a spoon which she thought would be a great weapon.
She was ready to attack the intruder.
"Hello! Anybody there?" The voice sounded worried.
Then she heard whispers. She couldn't understand the language so, she thought an alien might be visiting her.
When she was slowly approaching the door, she finally heard 'Hajima, she will get scared'
Now, Hajima meant don't do it in Korean.
Meena started walking backwards towards the kitchen door.
She sat behind the door and started rubbing her palms anxiously.
She had seen a lot of kdramas and listened to lots of pop songs, so, she immediately understood that a Korean person has come to meet her.
But, she thought why.
'Why, has he come here? Am I in trouble?'
She nervously walked towards the door, with such anxious thoughts.
She then saw... Her idol... Whom she never thought of meeting in this lifetime!
He greeted her with his cute smile and bowed warmingly.
She was so shocked to even speak.
He laughed. She was stuttering words and laughing nervously.
'Oh, come on! Grip yourself' She told herself.
To her surprise, the words just slipped out of her mouth instead of thinking it, she blurted them.
The member reassured her and asked if he can the house.
Because of such mannerisms, he was Meena's idol!
But, even before he could step inside, Meena asked him.
"What are you doing here? Am I hallucinating?"
"Your friend send me here" and for the second question "*laughs* No, you aren't hallucinating"
Meena was overwhelmed by her friend's thoughtfulness.
She told him to wait till she called him inside.
She hastily cleaned the house and aftef about minimal cleaning and changing of clothes, she asked him to enter.
After welcoming each other, she asked him a question again.
"Are you stalking my friend?"
He was taken aback.
"No, no, she used your name in my fanmeet raffle."
"Oh, ok." She calmly replied. But, she was bursting with joy inside.
She wanted the fanmeet to rather end without any drama and mst importantly, didn't want to make her idol uncomfortable.
"So..." He started his conversation with an easy common question.
"What's your favourite song?"
She replied rather in an excited tone.
She told all about her favourite songs and why she had chosen them as favourites.
Seeing such enthusiasm, the idol was beaming with joy.
He had thought their fandom to be open about themselves. Not to be feared and to learn to embrace themselves.
She couldn't stop sharing her experiences while she struggled during the initial times.
She told him that, whenever she was upset or just felt stressed she listened to their songs and even, see, a few funny dramas (either kdramas or English ones)
They spoke with each other the whole day, without getting bored.
Meena even learnt about the struggles and also that, even idols are human beings and not just robots to work day and night.
For snacks, they went out to a fast food stall, and, to Meena's surprise the member didn't even complain.
He infact, shared his experience of eating fastfood and getting caught by the public. He laughed and said "You can't get simple pleasures of life after you are famous."
By the end of the day, at around early evening, staff had asked him to take the fan and meet other members.
So, that's how Meena met the other members, whom she thought she would never meet!
She thanked the staff and had a little teeny tiny request.
She requested to take a photo with the group and even get their autographs.
She told the members that, it was her long time wish to meet them in person and to learn more about them.
She was glad that, even though, she was a fan, she didn't make her idol uncomfortable.
The evening ended with lots of laughter and memories.
Which, I think, Meena couldn't forget her entire life!
