Somyaa is a ten year’s old little girl who has very less interest in studies. Her mother always gives strict instructions towards study but Somya is about to not taking it seriously. One day Somya furiously come to home from school... She threw her school bag hard on the bed... She is feeling frustrated because today also teacher punish her for not completing homework on time... She scream at her badly... Every time she did same and girl feel humiliated ... She finds difficulty in making friends into her classroom... She feels isolated... She feels like not go to school but parents does not allow her to skip school after all they wanted her to be top rank student like her friends karthika and ayushi... Saumya is crying ... Her mother heard sound and run towards her...
“What happened Saumya...? Why are you crying...?” mother asked
“ why mom, why are you asking...? Does it makes any difference to you if I suffered... I got humiliated...?”
“ humiliated...? Who humiliates you...?”
“ My teacher...”
“ Because you haven’t completed your home work right...?” Mother returning to kitchen... while saying, "Day by Day you are becoming rebel I have to control you otherwise the things will goes to out of control... You have to study well to do good in future... Do you understand...?"
She confront her and asked,
“ Tell me mom... If I’m not good at studies does that makes me undesirable for love and respect...?”
Mother is surprised by the question ... silently She moved outside...
Saumya , “ You always ignore me Mom...”
Saumya crying aloud...
Next day Saumya returning to home she saw something and her heart start aching... She feels painful... There is one little Puppy try to hide himself, few naughty childrens throwing stones at him... He is smartly taken a side of little unused barrel... But still it feels like not safe enough... The Puppy is really fearful and hopeless... His painful barking could not enough to melt the brutal children’s heart... The Saumya goes there, select a big stone and treaten childrens to stop otherwise they will got punish... The childrens run away... Slowly she move forward to Puppy... She Empathetically touches his neck and next moment she feels there is something... soft skin of Puppy makes her feel comfortable... She feels happy... slowly Puppy try to smell her tiny smooth hands... he is jumping and start running... Saumya laughing laud and try to catch Puppy. She brings him to home with her but her parents are intolerable towards dogs she well known the fact but today she decided she will hide him... she secretly start taking care of Puppy... Her day’s goes happy... Nowadays she loved... she feels that she belongs to someone... Day by Day they become best friends... Now she is surprisingly doing good at school... The drastic change also noticed by her parents but they ignore and supposed that all is because of their warnings... Everyone is happy...
One day Saumya talking to friend about Puppy but instead saying dog she try to articulate it as a stranger... conversation heard by teacher... teacher come to Saumya and asked her about the stranger... she feels afraid to tell anybody because fear of the puppy got catch by her parents they will not allow him to stay with her... she confused... her confused and fearful face shows there is something doubtful... she warn her to come with mother next day...That night she couldn’t sleep ... What will happen if mother got to know about her new friend... Does she will allow... ?Does she will be angry...? Whole night she was thinking about the concequences... At one point she feels what if I don't inform my mother about the teacher's message... The problem will be solved... What I will tell to ma'am...? I can't lie anymore... No there is no any other way... I have to face it... Not today another day mom and dad will find you Tommy... Anyways they will try to separate us but your and my friendship will be forever... I will come to meet you at street everyday... We will always remain friend... she hugged Puppy... He is also shows he is agree with her... Now she feel more strength...
At morning at breakfast table she told her mother that teacher wants to meet her...
mother asked her, “ why suddenly her teacher wants to meet her have you done mischief ...?”
Saumya replied, “ No mom... why you always has a doubt about me...”
Mother in gentle tone, “ No no I’m sorry beta I didn’t mean that way...?”
She left breast fast unfinished... Go to her room
Her mother goes to calm her down and what she seen in the room, 'A Puppy...'
She started screaming at her, “ You hide puppy here and we don’t even know it...you lied...”
Her mother slapped her and snatch Puppy ...
“ listen to me mom... He is my friend... don’t you see the difference in me ...?”
“ Oooh so this dog had make a difference in you which we couldn’t ... Right...?”
“ The love and acceptance make the difference... He does not any means to my achievement or failure... All over he is my friend... And will be always...”
Mom feels guilty by her answer... She returns her Puppy and leave the room ...
The whole day the mother reminds the past moments when Saumya try to be understood... She feels regretful and she thought like as a parent she feels fail today... I did the best and want to do best ... Is there anything wrong with this...? She is child ... She can't understand my situation today... But when she will be parent definitely she will be... yes definitely she will be...
At evening Her mother go to her...
“ Saumya really we are not a good parents no...?”
“ You are the best mom” she started crying and hugged her tightly... and continue talking...
“ I know everything you are doing is all for my good but if I don’t feel loved and satisfied what’s the point in it... If now every day I wasted being frustrated and sad ... I will be always like that mom... Do you want that...?”
The tears sprinkled in her eyes, “ I never realised it... we are very sorry my dear”
They both cried...
Her mother allowed her to keep Tommy with her... The stranger who gives courage, love and her parents love back what she deserves...
