Kapil R. Sharma holds a postgraduate diploma and M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), JNU Campus, New Delhi, along with UGC NET. He also earned a postgraduate degree in International Election Management from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai. Beginning his career in 2008 as a staff correspondent for the Hindi edition of Business Standard, Kapil transitioned to public service by joining the Bihar State Civil Service in 2013.
