His extensive knowledge extends beyond the classroom, having guided numerous doctoral and postgraduate students while publishing several research papers in reputed journals. A visionary administrator, he was instrumental in setting up three pharmacy institutions and served as a member of academic and administrative bodies. In addition to his academic accomplishments, Professor Shastry is a passionate agriculturist committed to organic farming. Pavithra Pradeep Prabhu, Assistant professor, NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, (Nitte Deemed to be University) is an emerging pharmacognosist dedicated to integrating traditional wisdom with modern science, as evident by her publications in reputed journals. She completed her M.Pharm from Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, earning the honour of best outgoing student. Under the guidance of renowned Vedic scholar and spiritual leader Swami Mukundananda, she has absorbed the teachings of yoga, meditation, and spirituality, which she views as India’s invaluable contributions to global well-being. A strong advocate of a plant-based lifestyle rooted in Indian traditions, she promotes a holistic approach to health, encouraging others to reconnect with nature.
