Dr Raju studied B.Sc. in Mrs A V N College, Vizag and completed his M.Sc. Nuclear Physics in Andhra University in 1978. Joined as Physics faculty member in M R College, Vizianagaram in August 1978 and rendered his services for 36 years in the same institution in different positions as U G C Coordinator, NAAC Committee member, H O D of Physics, Vice-Principal and retired as Principal in 2014 at the age of 58 years. Later he took the assignment as Director M.R.P.G. College & Management studies, Vizianagaram, for a period of two years during 2014-2016. Under the guidance of Dr Raju, the department of Physics faculty members have conducted several National Seminars and outreach programmes for school and college students on the occasion of ‘International Year of Physics-2005’, ‘International Year of Astronomy-2009’, “The Spectacular Natural Phenomenon-Total Solar Eclipse-2009" on 22-07-2009, ‘GESM-2012’ and ‘Centenary Celebrations of Einstein’s General Relativity-2016’.
Dr Raju completed his M Phil degree in 1992 and later pursued his research work under U G C Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in Nuclear Physics Department, Andhra University, Vizag in collaboration with Centre for Studies in Resource Engineering, IIT, Mumbai in the field of “K X-RAY SATELLITES AND HYPERSATELLITES OF THE ELEMENTS 19
Dr Raju had four research publications in National Journals - ‘Indian Journal of Physics’ & ‘PRAMANA’ and five publications in international journals: ‘X-Ray Spectrometry’ and ‘Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research B’.
In Sept, 2007 Dr Raju Participated in the “Global Skills Enhancement” ten-day training program at INFOSYS, Gachibowli campus, Hyderabad.
In March 2015 University Grants Commission (U.G.C.), New Delhi appointed Dr Raju as one of the Expert Committee members to evaluate the performance and academic attainments for the Conferment of Fresh Autonomous status to the Government First Grade College and Centre for P.G. Studies, Udipi, Karnataka.
