Dr. Moon Jana is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Asutosh College under the University of Calcutta. Dr. Jana has completed her Graduation and Post-Graduation from Siliguri College, Siliguri, and Visva Bharati (Central University).
She is UGC NET scholar and has completed her PhD on Environment Reporting of Print Media from Visva Bharati, Santiniketan. She has published several research papers in national and international peer reviewed journals and contributed book chapters published nationally. In her short career, she has worked with multiple reputed colleges and universities including University of Kalyani, Jadavpur University. She is also a member of the Under Graduation and Post-Graduation Board of Studies of several reputed institutions in the field of Journalism and Mass Communication.
Prior to her present status as an Assistant Professor, she was associated with All India Radio for more than 15 years. She has been working closely with nature and environment conservation organizations to promote desirable change with regard to environmental awareness and literacy. Beside academic writings, she also has published many non-academic environment literacy-based articles in reputed journals. Her main area of research is environment reporting, climate literacy, media literacy, community radio etc.
Dr. Shourini Banerjee is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Visual Communication, The American College, Madurai. She is the Head of The Dept of Costume Design and Fashion and Co-Ordinator of BVoc/MVoc Media Technology, The American College, Madurai. She is also a Visiting faculty for Jain University Online and is associated with Xaviers Institute of Management, Odisha as an Adjunct Faculty.
She has over 10 years of experience as a media academician. She completed her Ph.D. research on “Gender and Masculinity in Television Commercials- A Critical Study” in 2019. She has presented 25 papers at national and international conferences and has 47 publications which includes Scopus indexed articles. Besides to her credit, she has 2 co-edited books on “A Panoramic View on Women and Films in India” and “Regional Media-Emerging Trends & Prospects”. Her area of specialisation is Communication and Media Research, Media Literacy, Advertisements, and Gender Studies. She is also an active member of the Book Guild of Madurai.
She has delivered lectures on different topics in various colleges across the country. She is a certified trainer from FACTSHALA which is a news and information literacy initiative launched by Internews in collaboration with DataLEADS with support from Google.org. and has conducted 32 Factshala workshops across the country.
