Mrs Ismita Mathur ‘Muskan’ was born on 21 Feb 1962 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. After her marriage, she shifted to Madhya Pradesh, where she later joined the services of MPEB, Jabalpur, in the telecommunications department.
During her service career, she was an active member of the Women’s Complaints and Redressal Committee of her organization for about ten years and got exposed to mixed experiences of her contemporaries. Mrs Ismita Mathur ‘Muskan’ was born on 21 Feb 1962 in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India. After her marriage, she shifted to Madhya Pradesh, where she later joined the services of MPEB, Jabalpur, in the telecommunications department.
During her service career, she was an active member of the Women’s Complaints and Redressal Committee of her organization for about ten years and got exposed to mixed experiences of her contemporaries. She took voluntary retirement from the services in 2016, after serving for a long time of 28 years.
Though she was a student of science and technology, she was inclined towards art and culture, and her hobbies hovered around literature, dance, music, painting, etc.
The surrounding environment and day-to-day experiences related to the workplace, home, natural splendour and beauty of Jabalpur and long journeys to various parts of India kindled her writing skills which were expressed in the form of short stories, poems, memoirs, etc. Some of her writings have been published in the Sarita, Vanita and Madhurima sections of Dainik Bhaskar from time to time.
She regularly uploads audio stories in Hindi on YouTube, over the podcast, under the names ‘Malti Ke Phool’ and Pratilipi FM. Earlier her two books namely Tumhari Kahani and Vo Kucch Jaani, Kucch Anjaani were published by Notion Press in 2021. In recognition of her service to enriching Hindi literature, she has been conferred with a national level award by Kadambari, a literary organization, and honoured by Paatheya publication house with ‘Patheya Shri Alankaran’. Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company has also honoured her for her literary contributions on the occasion of Women's Day 2022.
