Dr. Vithiyapathy Purushothaman (李拯) is a Lecturer and Postdoctorate Scholar of Guangdong provincial high-level talent at the Theoretical Economics, College of International Studies, Shenzhen University. He earned a PhD through the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) of India-Chinese Government Scholarship exchange program at the Department of History of Science and Technology, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). During his doctoral studies at USTC, he was honoured to receive the “Chinese Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship Award”, the “USTC Excellent International Student Award for Academic Excellence”, and the “Best Activity Participation Award” for his academic endeavours. He completed his Master’s in Defence and Strategic Studies and MPhil in South and Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Madras with numerous presentation awards. He worked as a Research Officer and is currently an Associate Member of the Chennai Centre for China Studies. He is also President of China News Analysis Daily, which periodically brings insights into his academic understanding through posts, articles, podcasts, and videos. His field of interest centres around political economy, Meta-Geopolitics, Geoeconomics, and Strategic Studies. His most viewed article was titled “India’s Strategic Interest in the Malacca Strait. His recent book publications include “Transfer of Technology from South China to South India and Sri Lanka”, “Brahmaputra: The Strategic Water Resource of India” and “India’s Strategic Guardian of the Sky: IRNSS”. His chapter titled “Changing Dynamics of Counter-Terrorism Strategies in Asia” has been published.
