Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalIn the rapidly evolving digital landscape of the 21st century, China's Digital Silk Road (DSR) initiative has emerged as a pivotal force in shaping the technological and economic future of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). This comprehensive study by Dr. Vithiyapathy Purushothaman delves into the intricate dynamics of China's digital cooperation with key nations in the IOR, examining how high-tech zones (HTZs) are driving innovation, economic growth, and geopolitical influence. Drawing on extensive research and case studies of Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Iran, and Kenya, this book explores the multifaceted impact of China's DSR initiative. It examines how the transfer of digital technologies and the development of HTZs are transforming these regions, fostering regional connectivity, and contributing to the broader goals of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Through a detailed analysis of Shenzhen's high-tech zone in China, the book provides a comparative framework to understand the strategic development of HTZs in the IOR.
