Col Alok Asthana shares observations from a distinguished career in military command, the L&D industry, and consultancy.
He served 26 years in the Indian infantry - 4/4 GR and 8 RR, raised by him in 1994. With service in all counter-insurgency areas, raising and command of a unit, two instructional tenures at the Infantry School, and one at the Senior Command wing of the Army War College, he has the necessary experience to write this book.
The military experience was then complemented with tenures of Director L&D and Head Training Academy and OD. Thereafter, as a consultant-trainer on leadership and innovation across top organizations in India. Accenture in the Philippines and Marico in Dubai.
Post his premature retirement, he has also consulted the Army Training Command on improving training in the Indian Army.
He has been there, done it.
