Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalSet in the vibrant streets of Singapore's Holland Village, Finding Magic follows sisters Ava and Mia as they receive a “magical stone” from Uncle Goat. However, this stone has special “magic”.
Finding Magic is a whimsical story that addresses the importance of mindset for a child. Research shows that we all possess the innate capacity to reshape our mindset. What if we could teach this skill early on and equip children with the tools to shift perspectives and handle difficulties with adaptability and optimism.
While developing the book, I have taken insights of a child psychologist and conducted focus groups with mothers of young children to gather valuable feedback, which has been incorporated into the story.
For every five books sold, one will be donated to a low-income school, bringing the magic of mindset to more children.

I grew up in Mumbai, India, where I developed a deep passion for social impact and education. A graduate of Brown University with a degree in Anthropology, I was able to gain an understanding of how our environment influences human behaviour.
I have worked extensively with children, running a low-income school in Mumbai and founding a nonprofit addressing food insecurity among homeless children. I am now based in Singapore, working as the Regional Environmental Social and Governance Director at Naumi Hotels, focusing on projects related to women’s development and children’s education.
It has been my experiences working with people from diverse backgrounds that have inspired my belief in the power of mindset and resilience in overcoming challenges.
As a mother of a two-year-old and having recently faced challenges that led me to reflect deeply on personal growth, I felt inspired to write a story that empowers children to recognise their own ability to create happiness by choosing how to react to life’s events.
