Narayan had just graduated in 1945 and was selected by the British government of India to pursue a degree in Engineering in London when he met Dr. Ambedkar in Delhi.
After that they met in London often.
Later Dr. Ambedkar chose Narayan as the groom for Kamal Meshram. Engagement ceremony of Kamal and Narayan was performed at Babasaheb's residence.
