Orchita Chakraborty is a junior in high school from the Bay Area, California. She aspires to become a medical professional and work in biotech research in the future. She performed a research project on how CRISPR-CAS9 and other gene editing technologies can be used to treat Alzheimer’s disease and wanted to deliver the output through a comic book. Personally, ever since her paternal grandfather passed away due to Alzheimer’s, she was really interested in imagining the cure for this disease. Through her comic book, Orchita hopes to reach young audiences and inspire them to view the world in a more whimsical lens while searching for answers that feed their curiosity. In her free time, she loves to read, doodle, and take care of her 7-year-old goldfish! Orchita also received a Gold Key award for this book in the 2025 Bay Area Regional Scholastic Art Awards, presented by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers
