Manoj Kumar
Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar, D.Lit., is a poet, translator, and Professor in the Department of English and Modern European Languages at the University of Allahabad, Prayagraj. With over two decades of teaching experience, he is known for his deep interest in Indian Writing in English, Indian Sanskrit Poetics, and Translation Studies. He has written poems and ghazals in Hindi and Urdu and has worked extensively on translating major literary works between Hindi and English. Among his important translation works are G. B. Shaw’s play Arms and the Man and Henry James’s gothic horror novella The Turn of the Screw, both translated into Hindi with literary sensitivity and care. He has authored eleven books and published around forty research papers. Currently, he also serves as Coordinator of the Centre for Theatre and Film at the University of Allahabad and contributes actively to academic and creative fields.
