I woke up dazed

To a World crazed

Hopes razed

Everyone fazed.

A virus spread;

Thousands dead

Fear and dread

In everyone’s head.

No food to eat

No place to meet

Homeless on the street

Survival a feat.

Pay begrudged!

Had to budge;

A long trudge

For migrant drudge.

A life ill fated

Father berated

Feelings lacerated

Dignity macerated.

So much pain,

No bus or train,

A sorrowful refrain

Unbearable strain.

Families scattered

Livelihoods shattered,

Bruised and battered,

Torn and tattered.

Come back home

At the gloaming

To the village loam

Enough roaming!

So much fear

Far and near

Nothing clear;

Nothing dear!

No end in sight

To this blight

Unmitigated fright

Day and night.
