Don't walk away...!
She never spoke about her inner most feelings...but always brushed them away. She never let anyone into the room of her heart...she only met them at the doorway. Never would she trust anybody with letting down her inhibitions....the wall around her was too high to jump over and too wide to go around.
Once in a while, one could get a glimpse of her soul throbbing to pull down the chains and smell emancipation...through it's intense pair of windows that peered at you almost as though it wanted to establish an union, a communion with your own soul. But the illusion would last only for a fraction of a second....and as the moment would pass, she would hastily regain her composure and her blank expression and walk away, her heels clicking on the cold cemented floor that sent shivers down the spine.
Her coldness had a quality that made the heart ache in a manner that no balm could heal...and no warmth could make the ache go. Her melancholy corroded you on the surface and wildly churned your insides. If only...oh! If only she expressed what she felt...if only she spoke of her deepest pains and her darkest fears! If only she let go...for an hour...a minute...a moment.
Sadly, she was aware of the tremendous weight she carried around...but lacked the courage and conviction required to trade it with the affliction that the effort to let go would generate. What she didn't realise and never would was how much of an equal pain she caused to the one who perhaps never carried her weight around but ironically slipped and fell while following her forlorn and enigmatic trail and accidentally got dragged along too in the cold, distressful journey. She could only freed him when she disengaged her baggage from herself since the baggage she dragged along was tied to her and he was now beneath them. If only she would turn around once and spot the crushed soul!
