Maxia Rose dreads each day in the dull town of Aaring. She is forced to call the Ravenwood Mansion her home as she and her mother work tirelessly for its wealthy owners. Maxia desperately wishes for an escape, and soon, her dream comes true as she is whisked away to the hidden Kingdom of Mascraine for the summer.
She spends her time in Krisintha, the capital city, learning magic and living among magical species that only existed in her imagination. Upon entering the kingdom, not everything remains idyllic for long. Family secrets unravel, changing the course of the summer as Maxia must fight to save herself and the kingdom from impending destruction.
