Sir was emphatic, ‘Virat Kohli was not an Engineer, Rohit Sharma was not an Engineer – just average in studies. But look at the honour they have brought to the country. Women’s football has to come a long way and it is only players like her who will take it forward.’

-        The Spanish Football

‘Ramu, I had almost gone. I could see you and Swamiji. I clearly remember the shocked look on your face and the serene calmness on Swamiji. I wanted to fly out to another world where there were images calling me – but somehow, I could not get out of the tent and was hovering around for some time, and then I came back into this body.’
      - Life and Afterlife

“I am sending herewith three pieces of Pinnis, which I made specially for you, to remind you of the good old days, which may never come back again. I am hopeful someday, the hatred will disappear, and we shall be able to meet and travel as before. We could come there and you could come here.

Virender Arora

Virender Arora was born in Sargodha, Pakistan. At the age of seven, the Partition uprooted his family, forcing them to rebuild their lives as refugees in Delhi’s Karol Bagh. Despite the hardships of displacement, he excelled academically and pursued studies in coal mining.

He began his career in the early 1960s, working in the coal mines of Bihar. Following the nationalization of the coal industry, he transitioned into the paper sector, taking up a role in the small town of Yamuna Nagar, Haryana. His journey eventually led him to Kolkata, where he rose to prominence as the head of a major coal logistics company, earning recognition as a leading authority in the field.

These stories are drawn from his rich tapestry of life—his experiences, misadventures, and achievements. Writing became a passion after retirement, beginning with his autobiography and evolving into a prolific phase of storytelling focused on migration, family, spirituality, and more.

Virender now resides in Kolkata with his wife. He enjoys playing golf and speaking at seminars and webinars on coal, energy, and sustainability. He is the proud father of three daughters who live in Panchgani, Brussels, and Mumbai.

After the success of his first book, Tales of Us, readers eagerly awaited his next offering. This new collection presents more stories from his vivid imagination and lived experience, delving deeper into themes of human connection, personal history, and the ideas that shape who we are.
