Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalWhat do you do when the people who were supposed to love you leave you behind?
At fourteen, Sushmitha was sent across the world under the promise of a better future. What awaited her was silence, hunger, and a deep ache for belonging. Unbroken is a raw, powerful memoir about surviving emotional abandonment, rediscovering worth, and becoming the person you once needed.
With searing honesty and grace, Sushmitha Madhukar shares a story that crosses continents and generations—offering hope to anyone who has ever felt invisible, and a voice to those still finding their way.
Unbroken is not only for those who have lived through it, but for the next generation learning how to rise through it.

Sushmitha Madhukar moved to the United States at the age of 14, where she completed high school before earning both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Healthcare. After finishing her education, she discovered her true passion in clinical research operations. In her leadership role, Sushmitha is known for guiding teams with empathy, empowering clinical sites to succeed, and inspiring others through compassion and purpose. She believes that behind every trial is a patient waiting for a better tomorrow—and that belief drives everything she does.
Outside of her professional work, Sushmitha is deeply committed to service. In 2012, she founded a nonprofit organization that provides access to education for underserved youth. She also supports an orphanage for elderly individuals who have been abandoned by their families, offering them comfort, dignity, and care.
Currently, Sushmitha lives in a suburb of North Carolina with her husband and their twin boys. Unbroken is her inspiring debut memoir—a story of resilience, purpose, and the power of leading with heart.
