Subrat SaurabhAuthor of Kuch Woh PalWhat if the messiest thoughts you ever had—about family, love, growing up, and that odd feeling of not belonging—weren’t messes at all, but magic?
In Yappings of a Yapper, Jisna Abdul Razak strings together memory and meaning, trauma and tenderness, humor and heartbreak into a vivid tapestry of coming-of-age stories soaked in nostalgia, rebellion, and truth. Whether it’s the sting of a slipper-flung childhood, the quiet rebellion against generational norms, or the ache of losing someone you love too much, Jisna invites you into her world with raw honesty and a disarming voice that’s equal parts poetic and punchy.
This isn’t a self-help manual. This isn’t a memoir. This is a heartfelt ramble through the alleyways of growing pains, identity, brown-girl dreams, and the universal longing to be seen. It’s for the overthinkers, the misfits, the romantics who cry at waterfalls, and everyone learning the art of saying “no” without guilt.
Sometimes loud, sometimes tender—always real—Yappings of a Yapper is a love letter to the parts of us we were told to hide, and a quiet revolution in every page.

Jisna Abdul Razak is a physicist by degree, a thinker by design, and a storyteller by instinct. Born in India and raised in UAE , she grew up balancing the rigorous world of science with the fragile terrain of emotions—a paradox she still navigates through ink and introspection. Currently Jisna spends her time straddling the worlds of research and writing, where wave functions meet wonder.
Her debut book, Yappings of a Yapper, is a heartfelt mosaic of personal essays, nostalgic memorytrails, and philosophical reflections that peel back the layers of growing up, seeking love, unlearning perfection, and finding home within oneself. Known for her witty metaphors and unapologetically honest tone, Jisna's voice is equal parts humorous and haunting.
Outside of academia and writing, she runs the Instagram page Jar of Thoughts and hosts the podcast Let`s Yap, where she shares bite-sized pieces of her heart with an ever-growing audience of fellow dreamers, overthinkers, and yappers.
She still believes in the magic of handwritten letters, long walks under overcast skies, and that the best stories are the ones you live before you write.
