The Vintage Watch Collectors Guide invites you into the fascinating world of horology, where artistry, history, and human passion meet. From the elegance of classic movements to the thrill of discovering hidden microbrands, this book is both a practical manual and a heartfelt narrative of what it means to be a collector.
Drawing from years of hands-on experience and conversations with master watchmakers, curators, and collectors across the globe, Nagendra Saraf reveals the secrets of timeless pieces and the communities that treasure them. Along the way, he shares insights on authenticity, valuation, and the lasting legacy of watches that connect generations.
More than a guide, this book is a love letter to the timepieces that outlive us, keeping alive stories beyond the hands that wind them.

Nagendra Saraf
Nagendra Saraf is a leading voice in the Indian vintage watch community, the founder of the Bengaluru Vintage Watch Collectors Club (BVWCC), and a member of Vintage Watch Collectors India (VWCI). His interest in horology grew from earlier passions in philately and numismatics, shaping a deep curiosity and methodical approach to timepieces.
To move beyond short online discussions, Nagendra established BVWCC, now known for its lively Saturday breakfast meets and a strong community of over 600 members. These gatherings, often drawing 20 or more participants, bring together collectors from all walks of life—women, doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs, scholars, and students—to share watches, knowledge, and inspiration. With experience in fish keeping and aquascaping, he brings the same meticulous eye to exploring microbrands and writing from a collector’s perspective.
Beyond horology, Nagendra is a visionary leader and strategist with a distinguished career in technology, entrepreneurship, and business transformation. An engineering graduate from Mysuru University, he founded Palmworks®, a pioneering company in PDA and smartphone application integration. He has taught e-Commerce Implementation and Business Intelligence at Visvesvaraya Technological University (Belgaum Campus) and continues his work in strategic thinking and leadership through We-Manage and The CEO School.
An engaging speaker and prolific writer, he shares his insights on Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, and podcasts. He is a graduate in Carnatic Vocal Music, a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, and a teacher of Gayatri Japa Mudras. As a coffee planter, he draws inspiration from the land’s rhythm and quietude. His early roles with Rotaract and JCI shaped his lifelong commitment to growth through community and dialogue.
