Born on May 9, 1962, into a middle-class Punjabi family in Delhi, Rajesh Sharma grew up in a home where sports and literature thrived. His father, a footballer of his time, passed down his love for the game, while his mother, a Hindi teacher, unknowingly nurtured his affinity for poetry and storytelling.
A graduate of Delhi University, Rajesh played football at competitive levels but eventually found his true calling in education. After moving to Ranchi, Jharkhand, in 1990, he explored various avenues before establishing a kindergarten school and a tuition centre, dedicating himself to shaping young minds.
