Puchka In The Polder

Author Name: Shayonti Chatterji, Reshmi Nashier, Satyakirty Akhouri | Format: Paperback | Genre : Biographies & Autobiographies | Other Details

12 Moments from Their Lives. Bittersweet, deeply nostalgic, and sometimes laced with humor, Puchka in the Polder is a collection of real-life narratives, about life, love, and the quiet ache of memories.

More than just a reflection on identity, belonging, and the passage of time, it is about embracing change while staying true to oneself. It speaks to anyone who has navigated life’s transitions, juggled traditions with modernity, or found comfort in the familiar flavors of home. At its heart, it is a celebration of resilience, self-discovery, and the deep connections we form through experiences, emotions, and yes, even food.

Authenticity is woven into the fabric of this book, with narratives expressed in English alongside Hindi transliterated in English. Just as we blend words, we blend cultures, perspectives, and traditions, creating something uniquely ours. It is not about where you come from but about the universal experience of evolving while holding onto what truly matters.
For those who love real experiences raw, honest, and deeply human. Puchka in the Polder is an invitation to connect, reflect, and celebrate the richness of life’s journey.

Shayonti Chatterji

Over the years, navigating places, cultures, and roles shaped how I see and respond to life.My journey from a young woman stepping into the unknown to an entrepreneur has been one of learning, unlearning, and rediscovery. The moments that linger are often the simplest ones we rarely pause to document. I write to honour memory, celebrate identity, and voice  moments that shaped me. My stories reflect nostalgia, belonging, and the quiet strength of resilience. I live in Amsterdam with my husband and our spirited daughter, both constantly teaching me to grow, reflect, and stay curious.

Reshmi Nashier

It begins with Pune, nani’s warmth, maa’s quiet strength, dad’s discipline, and the lovely chaos of growing up with four siblings shaped me. From village life to army roots, to Netherlands, Travel diary across globe, I’ve learned to value lived moments, real bonds, and the growth rooted in embracing flaws. Through writing, often in a mix of English and my mother tongue Hindi, I share the life as I’ve lived it. Flawed, raw, and full of meaning. Lived fully, felt deeply. Meri duniya Anil,Chhavi, Udit, Bruno aur yeh kahaniyaan uski ek jhalak.Maybe something in them echoes yours.

Satya Akhouri

Born to a close-knit Indian family surrounded by love, laughter, and a gentle sense of responsibility. Childhood unfolded across many Indian cities, each shaping my spirit. From Delhi schools to a Gandhian campus, from coding to teaching, it’s been a path of purpose and discovery. Life took me from Curaçao, to Netherlands. I embraced creativity through ceramics, painting, and deep friendships. Through it all, India remained in my soul. My husband Amod, and my two children are the most beautiful chapters of life. I write stories to connect, reflect, preserve and find meaning.
